Abstract: Humans interact with their environment through all their sensors – however, modern digital interactions are almost solely based on sight and sound. Smell brings warmth and emotion to our lives, but after almost 80 years of research, digital replication and generation of aromas remains a challenge. This talk describes the advantages of aroma integration, the challenges in aroma generation and our attempts to solve this problem.
