Acoustic Wave Microsystems for Chip-scale RF and Optical Signal Processing
Abstract
Advances in nanofabrication have enabled chip-scale subsystems in which phonons can exhibit strong interactions with several other physical domains. This talk will discuss progress in the areas of acousto-electric amplification and acousto-optic modulation in heterogeneously integrated piezoelectric thin films. We also present the development of a phononic integrated circuit platform in scandium aluminum nitride, with applications for communication and information processing.
