Yu-Hsin Chen is recipient of SSCC Predoctoral Achievement Award

Ph.D. graduate student Yu-Hsin Chen received the 2016-2017 IEEE Solid-State Circuit Society (SSCS) Predoctoral Achievement Award at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) which took place in San Francisco on February 5-9, 2017. This award is given to a small number of exceptional graduate students on the basis of academic record and promise, quality of publications, and a graduate study program well matched to the charter of SSCS. Yu-Hsin was nominated based on his work on Eyeriss, an energy-efficient accelerator for deep neural network processing, which has also been recognized with a MICRO Top Picks award for 2016. This research was performed in the Efficient Multimedia Systems Group; Yu-Hsin is co-advised by Professor Vivienne Sze and Professor Joel Emer.
