Bioelectronic noses benefit from the naturally optimized molecular affinities and intrinsic sensitivities of bioreceptors towards odorants. Utilizing Odorant Binding Proteins from insects and vertebrates, we show how an array of diverse odor sensors can be achieved for targeted applications.

Krishna Persaud holds a PhD in olfactory biochemistry and directs a multidisciplinary group exploiting engineering aspects of olfaction for chemical sensing. He is a founding director of Multisensor Systems Ltd, Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Fellow of the Institute of Measurement and Control.
