Problems and Solutions of HF/UHF Systems

MTL Seminar Series
Ulrich L. Rohde, German Armed Forces University Munich (Microwave Systems, Technical Informatics)

Military communications stations using many setups with closely spaced antennas (Shipboard operation) can be overwhelmed by cosite problems. A typical problem is reciprocal mixing and blocking/ desensitization. This presentation explains the mechanism how these interferences occur and how for a practical systems they can be minimized. As a working example the modern SDR transceiver architecture is selected.
